100 DOGS RESCUED FROM FLORIDA PUPPY MILL – The dogs were rescued from having to live in poor conditions at an unlicensed breeding facility.

The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office recently called enlisted the aid of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to help with the rescue of approximately 100 dogs in Clewiston, Florida.  The dogs are from a variety of breeds and were kept in poor conditions at an unlicensed breeding facility, or “puppy mill.” .Doctors and volunteers are currently providing the dogs with medical care. The owners of the facility were arrested on animal cruelty charges.

The ASPCA states that the dogs “were discovered living in crowded, filthy pens, many with little protection from the elements. Many dogs had no access to clean drinking water or food and were suffering from various medical conditions, including skin and eye disease and severe dental issues.”

Let’s hope that these dogs recover from their horrible experiences and end up in loving homes. Click here for more about this story from the ASPCA.  (Photo from the ASPCA)
