CAST MEMBERS FROM ‘PARKS AND RECREATION’ HELP PROMOTE DOG ADOPTION – Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls organization and the ASPCA have partnered up to produce a video series called “Heavy Petting” to promote the adoption of rescued dogs.

Several cast members who starred on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” helped promote ASPCA dog adoption efforts by appearing in “Heavy Petting,” a video series from Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls.  Aubrey Plaza, Aziz Ansari, and Nick Offerman have all taken part in the videos.  There are also other videos in the series starring Ike Barinholtz (Mindy Project) and John Mulaney (SNL). Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls is an organization founded by Amy Poehler and Meredith Walker to help “young people cultivate their authentic selves,” by emphasizing “intelligence and imagination over “fitting in.””

Each video focuses on a specific shelter dog and provides general information about the dog so potential adopters can get an idea about the dog’s personality. Hopefully all of these dogs find great families soon!  Click here to watch all of the videos in the series.
