LOCAL RESIDENTS TAKE IN RESCUE DOGS WHO WERE STRANDED DURING TRANSPORT – When a transport van carrying 22 rescue dogs became stranded in a snowstorm, area residents volunteered to provide temporary shelter.

A group of 22 rescued dogs from Midwest Animal Rescue & Services and Rocky Ridge Refuge were on their way to Minnesota from Arkansas when they suddenly became stranded in Iowa due to a snowstorm. Fortunately, an organization called AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport put out the call and local residents from the Urbandale area volunteered to take the dogs to their homes until it was safe to travel again. All 22 dogs were sheltered by the volunteers until the storm passed. Great job by all involved to get these dogs safely on their way! (Click here for more on this story from whotv.com)
