RARE PICTURE OF HACHIKO IS DISCOVERED – An 80-year-old photograph of Hachiko, the dog famous for having waited for his owner in front of a train station in Tokyo, was discovered by the photographer’s family.

Around 1934, a man named Isamu Yamamoto took a photo of Hachiko the dog in front of the Shibuya Station in Tokyo. Recently, Mr. Yamamoto’s family discovered the photo and passed it on to Takeshi Ando, the sculptor famous for creating the well-known Hachiko statue which currently stands in front of the station. Hachiko, an Akita, is famous for having waited for his owner in front of the train station for years, not realizing that his owner had already passed away. Today, Hachiko has become a symbol of the dedication and loyalty of dogs. Click here for the full story from The Japan News.
